Pokhara Avengers have strengthened their squad with another quality overseas all-rounder. Bangladesh’s Mahedi Hasan will play for the franchise in the third edition of the Nepal Premier League, with Pokhara announcing his signing on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old is a right-handed batter and right-arm off-spinner, and he arrives in Nepal in fine form, currently ranked eighth in the ICC T20I bowling rankings.
Proven T20 performer
Mahedi has played 78 T20 internationals for Bangladesh, scoring 494 runs and claiming 78 wickets. Across all T20 cricket, he has featured in 210 matches, scoring 2,131 runs and taking 197 wickets.
Welcoming him to the squad, Pokhara Avengers said they expect his all-round ability to add real strength to the team.
Star-studded overseas line-up
Mahedi is the latest big name in Pokhara’s overseas group. The franchise has already signed Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan and Sri Lanka’s Chamika Karunaratne, giving them a strong mix of experience and all-round depth.
NPL Season 3 begins on October 26 (Kartik 9) at TU International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
